Buenos Aires Short Cuts

Photobook : Buenos Aires Fracciones.

It was very lucky last Tuesday, because I have discovered an interesting place where it is possible to enjoy wine, to see arts and to meet new people.
Under the patronage of Terroir Expression Winemakers, Casa de Artistas showed a new Photobook of photoartist Vanesa Tapertte.Vanesa Tappertte is Photographer and Graphic Designer. With an independent View, not nostalgic, not turistic, she searches hidden places, moments, days and places in their own time.
The Photos with digital and analogical technology are made on black and white.

Photo-Art Opening at Centro Cultural Borges

This Art Opening was very interesting. Gusinde’s photos are enlightened.
The description about Ona’s life is very complete and serious.

Dr. Anne Chapman, Researcher and Curator made an introduction for the visitors and at made also an invitation for her CONFERENCE, on March 18 at the Centro Cultural Borges.

On Exhibition “The end of the world: The Selk’nam from Tierra del Fuego”.


It’s a photo-exhibition with historical and antrophological objective, which shows the ONA’s society and way of life from Magallanes’s Time ( 1520) throughout nowadays.
Mostly of the pictures are Martin Gusinde’s property.
Martin Gusinde was priest, misionaar and antrophologist born in Austria, who made several travels to Tierra del Fuego in the beginning of the 20 th Centhury. His picture are a document about the relationship between the Onas and the white man.

Dr.Anne Chapman, Researcher and Curator of the Exhibition, will make the official Art - Opening.

Sara Facio's Anthology






Sara Facio is a very famous Argentinien Photographer


Untill 29. March we shall take a look at 179, Arts- Photos from
Great argentine Photographer Sara Facio at Fundación OSDE.

The Art- Exhibition shows an Anthology and involves her most emblematic Photo- Collections :

- Buenos Aires Buenos Aires
- Humanario
- President Perón Funeral
- Pablo Neruda in “Isla Negra”
- Portraits from Writers : Alejandra Pizarnik, Rosario Castellanos, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Julio Cortazar.
- “Brujos y Hechiceras”, involves photos of Victoria Ocampo, Maria Elena Walsch and Astor Piazolla.

Sara Facio, thinks that the picture must be in a good paper, because she saiys, “ It is very difficult to get the deepness of the observer without nuances, without the lights”.
She does want to show observers good pictures, good printed, to make them to watch the measure, the art of the photography.

In 1974, the newspaper for whom she worked, asked Sara Facio to make a group of Photos about the death of President Perón.
Sara Facio wasn’t involve with the Peronismo, but she was very sensitive for the impact the death of Peron hat been made in the people.
The pictures of “Funerales del Presidente Perón” are a memory and a mirror of the country, its society and its conflicts.
